Mechanical performance As far as the connection function is concerned, the insertion force is an important mechanical performance. Insertion force is divided into insertion force and extraction force (extraction force is also called separation force), and the requirements of the two are different. There are regulations on insertion force and small separation force in the relevant standards, which indicates that from the point of view of use, the insertion force is small (there is a structure with low insertion force LIF, but insertion force ZIF does not). If the separation force is too small, it will affect the reliability of the contact. The insertion force and mechanical life of the connector are related to the structure of the contact part (positive pressure), the coating quality of the contact part (coefficient of sliding friction) and the dimensional accuracy (alignment) of the contact device.
